Dihydroquercetin or Taxifolin-rich extract - Novel Food in EU

According of the publication in Official Journal of the European Union on 21.3.2018 COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING REGULATION (EU) 2018/461, authorising an extension of use of taxifolin-rich extract as a novel food under Regulation (EU) 2015/2283 of the European Parliament and of the Council, and amending Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/2470. Taxifolin-rich extract (Dihydroquercetin) can be used as an ingredient in food supplements, non-alcoholic beverages, milk products and chocolate confectionery. 

SCIENTIFIC OPINION ON TAXIFOLIN-RICH EXTRACT FROM DAHURIAN LARCH (LARIX GMELINII)

EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) Panel on Dietetic Products, Nutrition and Allergies (NDA) conclusions:

The Panel concludes that the NF food, taxifolin-rich extract from Dahurian (Siberian) Larch, is safe under the proposed conditions of use.
